Frequently asked questions.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A THERAPIST AND A TRAUMA INFORMED COACH?

The main difference is a therapist treats the trauma, whereas a trauma informed coach does not, but instead is informed about and understands the impact that past trauma can bring to the client’s life. Whilst coaching is not a substitute for therapy, Trauma Informed Coaching works very well beside therapy, in order to speed up the recovery process. Trauma Informed Coaching is also very beneficial for clients who have previously had therapy, and are at the stage of moving forward, but need further support on their journey towards healing and transformation.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LIFE COACH AND TRAUMA INFORMED COACH?

A Trauma Informed Coach is a Life Coach who has gained additional qualifications so they can fully support their clients who have been affected by trauma. The knowledge of how trauma can impact a client’s well-being gives the coach an insight as to which approach fits each client they work with in the coaching setting. A Trauma Informed Coach also teaches techniques to help the client to manage any trauma responses and triggers that may come up; whilst at the same time supporting and empowering them on their healing journey.
